The Motorcycle Story
A classic roadster in a modern design. No excuses, no compromises.

The Interceptor 650 is a classic roadster and the first model on Royal Enfield's twin-cylinder platform. It entered the European market in 2018, bringing back the parallel-twin engine—a format most manufacturers had abandoned in previous decades.

The powertrain is an air-cooled 648cc twin with a 270° crankshaft. It delivers a signature dual-tone exhaust note, linear acceleration from low revs, and smooth performance on the highway. The geometry is pure roadster: an upright riding position, wide handlebars within reach of relaxed shoulders, and a seat height of 820 mm. Plus, its 35 kW output fits within the A2 license limit.

This isn't a bike for just one style of riding. It’s for the rider who wants more but doesn't want to specialize. It’s for daily commuting, a weekend in the Šumava mountains, or a two-day trip through the Elbe lowlands. A modern classic in the literal sense: classic form, modern function. For those who prefer a sportier riding position, there is Continental GT 650. For those moving up a class from the Classic 350, there is the Classic 650.

STORY · HERITAGE

The return of the parallel twin

In the nineties, most manufacturers abandoned parallel twins in favor of V-twins and four-cylinder engines. Royal Enfield went against the grain in 2018, and the Interceptor 650 proved that a parallel twin has a place in a modern motorcycle. The 270° crankshaft gives the engine an irregular, melodic sound that you will recognize the moment you hear it.

DETAIL · CRAFTSMANSHIP

A classic roadster, modernized

The silhouette pays homage to British roadsters of the late sixties: a teardrop tank, a round headlight, a long flat seat, and wire-spoke wheels with chrome rims. Modern technology remains hidden: ABS, fuel injection, a slipper clutch, and a six-speed gearbox. 1969 looks, today's technology.

Versatile geometry

An upright riding position, wide handlebars within natural reach, and a seat height of 820 mm that suits most riders over 170 cm. Footpegs in a neutral position—neither sporty nor cruiser-like. Geometry built for versatility: agile in the city, stable on the highway, and predictable in corners.

RIDE · FEELINGS

A motorcycle for every type of ride

The typical Interceptor owner doesn't want to be limited to one style. Commuting to work, a weekend ride through the countryside, a trip to the cottage, or a summer ride to Italy. The Interceptor handles it all without missing a beat. A modern classic in the literal sense: classic form, modern comfort.
