The Motorcycle Story
The same J-platform engine as the Classic. Less historical baggage, more agility.

The Hunter 350 is the latest addition to the J platform. It features the same air-cooled 349cc single-cylinder engine found in the Classic 350, housed in a lighter, more agile frame. It is an urban roadster stripped of historical baggage and the most accessible entry point into the Royal Enfield family.

The geometry is sportier, featuring a shorter wheelbase, higher footpegs, and handlebars positioned for an easy, upright riding stance. The Hunter handles corners more sharply, brakes over shorter distances, and feels noticeably more energetic in city traffic than the Classic. It sacrifices none of the power, and with 15 kW, it is the perfect motorcycle for an A2 licence.

The Hunter is designed for riders who want a motorcycle with character for their first bike, but without the feel of a machine from the seventies. It is perfect for the morning commute along the river, an evening loop around the city, or a Friday afternoon ride with friends. Classic thinking in a lighter, urban package. If you are looking for something more overtly retro, check out Classic 350. If you prefer a parallel twin, take a look at Interceptor 650.

Same engine, different frame

Inside the frame works the same 349cc single as in the Classic 350: air-cooled, long-stroke, with that characteristic thump. Everything around it changes. A lighter frame with a shorter wheelbase means the Hunter answers the throttle more promptly.

STORY · HERITAGE

A roadster without the heritage baggage

The Hunter 350 arrived in 2022 as an answer to a simple question: what would a Royal Enfield look like if it never had to glance back at 1948? The same engine, a different context. Less chrome, more matte black. Shorter mudguards, wheels left in the open. A roadster shaped by London streets rather than the British countryside.

DETAIL · CRAFTSMANSHIP

Agility as standard

A shorter wheelbase, a sharper steering angle, seventeen-inch wheels front and rear. In city traffic the Hunter behaves differently from the Classic: it needs less room, turns in faster and stops in a shorter distance. At low speeds it is noticeably more agile, and you feel that difference every minute you spend in traffic.

ENGINE · CHARACTER

Same thump, different rhythm

The engine is the same unit found in the Classic 350 and Bullet 350: an air-cooled 349cc single from the J platform. The characteristic deep thump, broad torque, no chase for peak power. The Hunter simply puts it to work more quickly. Shorter gearing and lower weight make it the most playful of the 350 range in town.

RIDE · FEELINGS

The first bike that stays with you

The typical Hunter owner holds an A2 licence, is somewhere between twenty and thirty, and this is their first motorcycle with real character. It is the most affordable Royal Enfield, but nobody buys it on price alone: it has the rhythm, the sound and the look of its bigger siblings in a form that fits a city garage. The commute along the river. Friday evening outside a cafe. The first summer run out to the cottage.
