A legend that never stopped

When the first Bullet rolled off the production line in Redditch, England, in 1932, no one knew that the longest-running model in motorcycle history was being born. In the 1950s, production moved to Madras, India, where the Bullet found a second home—one it still calls home today. After ninety years, its most significant chapter yet has arrived. For the first time ever, it features a twin-cylinder engine.

New heart, same soul

Beneath the tank now beats a 648cc parallel-twin, the same unit that powers the entire 650 model range. Compared to the original single-cylinder, it offers double the power and torque, yet the character remains unmistakable. It provides a calm, substantial, and confident pull that is in no rush. A six-speed gearbox with a light slipper clutch handles shifting, while dual-channel ABS ensures safe stopping.

A few numbers for perspective:

  • Engine: 648cc parallel-twin, 34.6 kW (47 hp) at 7,250 rpm
  • Torque: 52.3 Nm at 5,650 rpm
  • Transmission: 6-speed, slipper clutch
  • Seat height: 800 mm, curb weight 243 kg
  • 19" front and 18" rear wire-spoke wheels, disc brakes with ABS

Craftsmanship you can see at a glance

The Bullet 650 isn't about cutting-edge tech; it’s about details you won't find anywhere else. The gold pinstriping is applied by hand in Madras. The 3D winged badges and the casquette headlamp with its signature "tiger eyes"—lights that first appeared on Royal Enfields back in 1954—pay direct homage to the model's historic lineage. The pair of chrome peashooter exhausts gives the Bullet not only its classic silhouette but also the fuller exhaust note that a twin-cylinder deserves.

Who is the Bullet 650 for?

This bike is for the rider who appreciates continuity. For someone who isn't looking for the fastest machine, but an icon with a ninety-year history in a full-fledged twin-cylinder form. With its 34.6 kW, the Bullet 650 falls within the A2 license limit, making it accessible even to less experienced riders. It belongs to the Royal Enfield classic family.
